ONE BREEDING PHILOSOPHY.
Yeguada Lotus has joined forces with Yeguada Las Espadas, bringing together two complementary approaches to breeding.
At Lotus, our focus is primarily on producing horses for sport — horses with expressive movement, functionality, rideability and the physical qualities required to develop through the levels. We aim to breed horses that are not only beautiful, but athletic, trainable and suited to a future under saddle.
Yeguada Las Espadas brings another dimension to our breeding program, with a particular focus on special coat colours and distinctive genetics. Their breeding includes Isabelos, Perlinos, Cremellos, Palominos and Buckskins, combining striking appearance with carefully considered bloodlines.
Together, the two programs allow us to pursue different breeding goals while sharing the same principles: quality, thoughtful combinations, correct development and respect for the horse.
SPORT HORSES
WITH FUNCTIONALITY
For Yeguada Lotus, movement alone is not enough.
We want to breed horses with the ability to use their bodies correctly — with balance, strength, elasticity and natural functionality. Character and trainability are equally important, because our aim is to produce horses that can become genuine partners for their future riders.
Every breeding combination is considered with the future horse in mind: its conformation, movement, temperament, rideability and potential for sport.
SPECIAL COLOURS
Alongside the sport-oriented breeding program of Lotus, Yeguada Las Espadas specialises in producing horses with exceptional and less common coat colours.
Colour is an important part of this breeding direction, but never the only consideration. Each combination is selected with attention to type, character, conformation and the qualities we want to preserve for the next generation.

Our foals are raised in groups from an early age and remain in a social environment throughout their young years, normally until approximately three years of age.
We believe this period is fundamental to the development of a balanced horse. Living together allows young horses to learn natural communication, boundaries and social behaviour while giving them the space to move, play and develop physically.
At the same time, they grow up accustomed to people and everyday handling.
They are regularly handled with patience and care, accustomed to having their feet picked up and trimmed, and introduced to the farrier from a young age. Deworming and routine care are carried out according to their individual needs and development.
Our goal is not simply to produce a beautiful young horse.
It is to raise a horse that is confident, well socialised, respectful and prepared for the next stage of its life.
NUTRITION FOR
HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT
Growing horses have very different nutritional requirements from mature horses, and we take their development seriously.
Our youngstock receives a carefully managed diet designed to support steady, healthy growth, together with the vitamins, minerals and trace elements required during the important developmental years.
We pay particular attention to maintaining the right balance between forage, energy, protein, vitamins and minerals rather than encouraging excessively rapid growth.
Combined with turnout, movement and regular monitoring, our feeding program is designed to support the development of strong bones, healthy joints, muscle and overall condition.
FROM THE FIRST DAY,

Every foal represents years of decisions — the choice of mare, the choice of stallion, the bloodlines behind them and the qualities we hope to bring together.
But breeding does not end when a foal is born.
For us, the years that follow are just as important.
From the first handling to the first farrier visit, from growing up within the herd to the day they begin their life as a riding horse, we want every young horse produced by our breeding program to receive the time, care and foundation it needs to become the best version of itself.
