Montañes is a very special stallion who has been part of our family since he was a baby. We have watched him grow, develop and become the confident, playful horse he is today.

One of his most striking features is his exceptionally rare Grullo coat. Grullo is a black-based dun colour, characterised by a smoky slate or mouse-grey body combined with darker points and distinctive primitive markings. Montañes shows the characteristic dorsal stripe along his back and zebra-like barring on his legs, giving him a particularly unusual and eye-catching appearance.

His education has always been approached patiently and naturally. We started his backing very gently, first working with him without a saddle and only on a halter, allowing him to understand and accept each new step without pressure.

Today, Montañes is an incredibly confident horse under saddle. He is brave, reliable and genuinely bombproof, while still keeping the playful personality that makes him so enjoyable to work with.

He absolutely loves interaction and learning. Tricks, new exercises and little challenges quickly become a game for him, and his curiosity and willingness make him a horse with a great deal of personality.

Montañes is also an active breeding stallion with us and has already produced several beautiful foals. We particularly value not only his unusual colour, but also the character and presence he passes on to his offspring.

What makes Montañes truly special is the combination of his striking appearance and his temperament. Behind the unusual colour is a horse who is kind, courageous, intelligent and full of character — a stallion we have known almost his entire life and one who has given us many special moments over the years.
